Beginning Woodworking 1 qualifies in many states as a hands-on STEM or elective course.

✔ Covers tool safety, math, measurement, and real-world application
✔ Materials and tools may also qualify for reimbursement
Check with your local charter or homeschool organizer on state requirements or limits - you may be able to buy tools and materials using Homeschool funds!
The age requirement is dependent on your power tool's user guide. Most recommend adult supervision for users under 18. The course materials can be taken by any age, but hands-on sections may require adult supervision.
You will need some space to work, but this can be outdoors, on a deck or patio, or garage. You can also cut boards outdoors, and assemble projects indoors on a table (just protect your table).
This course is designed to fit a one semester requirement. You can go at your own pace, and complete much sooner (in as little as a weekend). For full semester credit, completing a workbench project is recommended.
